CRUSHER SCALPINGS

Crusher scalpings are a product put off by the crusher when crushing gravels. Crusher scalpings will consist of a rocky, sandy material with pieces ¾” and smaller. Crusher scalpings work well for building up large areas to level out or backfilling.

PIPE ZONE BEDDING

Pipe zone bedding (formerly called P2 Gravel Borrow) is another good “Structural Fill” option. ⅝” and smaller, it is a coarse sand mix commonly used for bedding electric lines.

GRAVEL BORROW

Gravel borrow is a sandy, rocky product also known as a “Structural Fill”. Gravel borrow will have rocks up to approximately 3” in size. This product works well to backfill areas that are deeper than 6 inches. (For filling in an area with less depth, see: Tailings). Gravel borrow is commonly used to build up a large area or used as construction backfill since it compacts well.

SMALL QUARRY SPALLS

Small quarry spalls are clean 2”-6” rocks. Small spalls are commonly used for mud control in construction entrances or for decorative purposes. Both small and large spalls can be used for lining ditches or berms.

LARGE QUARRY SPALLS

Large quarry spalls are clean 4”-10” rocks. Large spalls can be used for decorative purposes such as a rock border, as well as for small rock walls. Both small and large spalls can be used for lining ditches or berms.
