1 ¼” minus basalt is a crushed gravel used for a base. 1 ¼” minus is also known as crushed surfacing base course or CSBC. 1 ¼” minus is used in soft or muddy driveways or pathways where ⅝” minus would be too small.
3” MINUS BASALT
3” minus basalt is a crushed gravel used as a road base. 3″ minus is commonly used in construction entrances or to build a base for a brand new road.
⅝” MINUS CRUSHED CONCRETE
⅝” minus crushed concrete is a recycled concrete product. ⅝” concrete is commonly used in concrete mixtures and under concrete pads. ⅝” concrete will compact well, but produces more dust than ⅝” basalt, so is not typically recommended for use on a driveway.

1 ¼” minus crushed concrete is a recycled concrete product. 1 ¼” concrete can be used in place of 1 ¼” minus when the darker color is not required. 1 ¼” concrete will compact well, but produces more dust than 1 ¼” basalt, so is not typically recommended for use on a driveway.

3” minus crushed concrete is a recycled concrete product. 3″ concrete is commonly used as a budget option to build a road base. 3″ minus basalt may work better if used in a muddy, “soupy” area.
⅝” MINUS RECYCLED ASPHALT
⅝” minus recycled asphalt is a crushed, recycled product. ⅝” asphalt works well for driveways and offers better dust control than ⅝” basalt. ⅝” asphalt will bind together very well and when applied with a roller can make for a very solid road.

1 ¼” minus recycled asphalt is a crushed, recycled product. 1 ¼” asphalt is often used as a base course on a driveway and offers better dust control than 1 ¼” basalt.
⅝” MINUS SELECT
⅝” minus select is a product that can be used in place of ⅝” minus under concrete pads or to backfill an area. ⅝” select is similar to ⅝” basalt, but may contain concrete, brick, asphalt or other bits crushed into the product. ⅝” select will still compact well, but may not provide a cohesive look.
⅝” MINUS GRANITE
⅝” minus granite compacts well and can be used in place of ⅝” basalt when the lighter color is preferred. ⅝” granite works well in pathways or driveways.
